Nature’s Gentle Therapy
Cultivating Calm and Connection
in Our Sensory Garden
Unique to Village Point, our sensory garden is more than a scenic space; it’s a vibrant, hands-on sanctuary designed for healing and discovery. Residents explore sensory garden planting, enjoy the calming rhythm of nature, and find comfort in colorful blooms and gentle textures that spark relaxation and sensory stimulation.
What Is a Sensory Garden?
A sensory garden is a thoughtfully designed outdoor environment that engages sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste to promote well-being. At Village Point, this space fosters connection and calm through evidence-based therapeutic programs developed by Springpoint and in partnership with Eldergrow™. Residents participate in sensory garden planting and culinary harvesting that encourage movement, focus, and self-expression. These activities support increased hand-eye coordination, finger flexion, and better balance. Working with plants also builds confidence and self-esteem while offering residents the chance to nurture life and, in turn, their own sense of purpose.
