PGx and Molecular Testing

Harnessing the Power of Genetics

We use state-of-the-art pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing using a simple cheek swab. PGx testing reveals how genetic factors impact a person’s ability to process and respond to medications. This testing ensures that our residents take the medications that work best for them and alleviates medication trial and error especially for pain, psychiatric disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. Genetic information helps physicians make better treatment and management choices.

The Best Testing Equals the Best Care

We use molecular real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) diagnostic testing using a simple cheek swab. This technique identifies difficult-to-culture pathogens with greater than 95% reported sensitivity and specificity in cases of urinary tract infections (UTIs). We are able to obtain PCR results in a day or less and use this diagnostic tool as part of our wound, gastrointestinal, urinary tract, and COVID with respiratory pathogen screenings.
